In keeping with the "Keep Austin Weird" tagline, you will not find Uber nor Lyft in town.  However, there are a slew of alternatives for getting around Austin:

Traditional Transportation

ztripEasy to find at the airport, they need to be called to pick you up elsewhere, although there are usually a few waiting to pickup passengers at downtown hotels.  There is an app to call Austin taxis: Z-Trip

logo_new_supershuttleUseful mainly to schedule pickup from the airport and from hotel back to airport.  Cheaper than taxis, ride shares, and car rental, but you do have to share the van with others for various pickups and drop-offs. There are several rideshare options to replace Uber and Lyft. Most of these are basically the same, but with small differences to try to set them apart from the two rideshare giants in other markets.
